What is the best bike for beginners, which can be modified to travel?
Need a suggestion for beginners bike (40yrs old 210 lbs. 5'11 "), but I want to use the road, traveling to the west (NM, AZ) So what is the best size, model, etc. .. I can continue for many years and add all the features necessary for long walks. I do not want too small of a bike. BTW, no biking "all exhaust pipes get hot, and some are built to avoid (potentially pilot burning.) I am totally new at this, so forgive the ignorance.
In Actually, there are a few style cruiser bikes to choose from that you can add accessories to the tour. Yamaha Star Motorcycles has, Kawasaki has the Vulcan, and the Honda Vtx, and the victory has a couple of models that suit your desires. Harley Davidson also has many options but I would suggest a metric manufacturers. Of course I have a Harley and love, however the parties and expensive maintenance. In fact, I'm thinking of going with a victory or a Yamaha because one of the options offered. In size Motor suggest anything smaller than 750cc but no more than 1100cc. You have to look around and see what bike feels right to you. Fit and feel of a bicycle will help ensure a comfortable stay for the long trips. I also suggest a motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) course baserunners. This course is designed to help the rider with little or no experience. In most states, if you take this course before obtaining a motorcycle endorsement to waive the DMV test Riding and sometimes the written test. It will teach you how to avoid obstacles, maneuver through tight corners and turns and basic maintenance tips. After this course you should feel more comfortable to ride a bike and enjoy the freedom of the road. To find a class near you go to this site. www.msf-usa.org. Some sites also provide the bike for you. The cost varies by location and range will be $ 150 - $ 250 in most cases. As for the heated exhaust all but in the style of your bike is weird actually burn yourself. If the leg reaches around you will feel the heat first so know to move your leg. Good luck in finding the right bike for you and enjoy.
