Fixed gear conversion?
I'm trying to get my chainline more straight on my fixed gear conversion (it's a 1980's schwinn world) because it's pretty off and is very annoying. If i replace my bottom bracket with a newer one, that has a shorter axle (so my chainring will be closer to the bike thus making the chainline straighter) would it be possible that my crank arms will hit my rear seat stays?
im only asking because i don't want to go out and spend money and then realize it was all a waste.

It is a very real possibility. try putting a spacer on your hub before you spin the cog on, that can give you up to about 4mm shift. Also, it is like $.50 compared to new cranks and BB.
If you are running a converted crank, try moving your chainring to the inside of the spider
Chainline may be a little noisy, but isn't nearly as big of a deal as alot of people emphasize it to be
