What non-hybrid cars get great gas mileage and cost under $23K?
I am car shopping and have looked at everything from Honda to hyundai but there's too many. I need a car that gets at least 28MPG in the city and cost me no more than $23,000. Can anyone simplify the process for me and help me narrow my search? I prefer regular unleaded, automatic, and some interior luxuries.
2008 Honda Civic EX looks like it fits your needs.
It's a very comfortable car, still has some power, gets about 32-35mpg mixed driving for me, city gets about 28-30. For $23k you can get a pretty much fully loaded EX, you could have navigation, or go with EX-L and get leather added to. I would go for a EX with just navigation though (unless you really like leather). EX is standard with allow wheels, sunroof, 6 disc CD changer, and other little things. Add Navigation and you have a pretty good package that you should be able to get for about $23k out the door. (I bought the coupe LX and love it - its one below the EX - i didn't want sunroof/6 disc cd changer, and didn't care if it didn't come with alloys since im changing the rims anyway) But i love it, i get about 35mpg on it the way i drive and it takes regular unleaded, and of course it comes in a very smooth auto =)
